Graphics: This game
has some of the best graphics I
have ever seen in a light
shooter, from the twitching of
the David zombies eye to the
ripple waves on the fat stomach
of a Bob zombie. It almost makes
you want to get hit just so you
can see the high level of detail
on the zombies (I have actually
done this). Human characters are
equally impressive in terms of
detail but humans are just boring
compared to the undead, right?
This game has plenty of gore and
the physics, while being somewhat
unrealistic in terms of you s
power, prove to be quite
satisfying. Nothing feels better
than blowing the head off of a
zombie a centimeter from gnawing
on your face. Watch as you blow
open the chest of a zombie and
you will see it's partially
destroyed rib cage, blow away and
entire arm, leg, torso, and of
course, head. While the extremely
graphic displays of in this game
may not suit the weak of stomach,
it is a blast for anyone who can
dismiss the as JUST a video game
and not blow something out of
proportion with claims of
influence and desensitizment.
Oops, got a little carried away
there, sorry about that.
Gameplay: There
isn't much to the gameplay, you
run around blasting zombies
before they get you. You can use
the controller or a light or an
arcade stick with this game. I
personally enjoy using the
controller even though I have a
light , the 's accuracy isn't
perfect and it is very slow
compared to the fire/reload trick
of the controller. However, there
is absolutely nothing wrong with
this setup, it is very fun and
enjoyable.
A.I.: Well,
there are zombies...and more, and
more, and more zombies. As
expected from zombies they aren't
very intelligent. They do the
traditional zombie limping and
zombie biting and zombie clawing.
Some, however, are very agile
(Randy zombies namely). Some have
chainsaws which are used with
deadly accuracy, some have
knives, some have axes, some have
light swords, some have light
daggers, you get the idea. Put
quite simply, you shoot, you
kill, they bite, you die. Not
much intelligence involved, I'm
not putting down anyone who
play's The House of the Dead
series, I'm a MAJOR fan, but the
truth IS that the game doesn't
take a rocket scientist to play
it...and by the looks of the
zombies, you get what you give...
Ingenuity: It's a
light gun shooter, they have been
around awhile, not much has
changed. The game is incredibly
fun though, the original mode is
a blast when you try and find all
the item locations. Training mode
is also a nice extra, also the
hardest part of the game. Anyone
can just get right in there and
play the game, not very original
at all but this formula doesn't
need to be changed...just
enhanced!
Fun: Like I
said, the game is incredibly fun,
no doubt about it. Some people
hate this game but that's usually
for one of two reason. Either
they suck at it or they find no
point in it. Either way, all I
can for those people is STICK IT
UP YOUR ASS! We don't care if you
hate this game. The Dream Machine
staff are strong fans of The
House of the Dead series (mostly
me, I compensate for the rest of
them) and we like it, if you
don't then go tell someone who
cares. Oops, this went terribly
off topic...ugh...the game is
fun!
