Durability- This
fishing controller is pretty
durable, it's made of hard
plastic. Most likely because of
the gyro inside. It's pretty
sleek looking, fits comfortaby in
your hand, works just as good as
a real fishing rod...in real life
that is...
Features- It's a
fishing controller, we've seen
them before. It has a standard
button layout just like the DC
control pad (excluding the two
trigger buttons and the
d-pad...oh, and the VMU slots, of
course). It also has a reel,
which obviously is what makes the
controller a fishing controller.
It has that realistic ticking
sound when you turn it...just
like a real rod. The joystick
feels right, so do the buttons,
kind of smooth actually. The
controller feels just a bit out
of place in your hand but it
still fits well. One strange
thing about the reel, you can
reel forward and
backwards...what's the point in
reeling forward?
Price- It costs
around $30, like most of
Interact's peripherals. It's a
fair price for any peripheral.
This is the only third party
fishing controller that I know
of...so if you want a third party
but don't like Interact, your
screwed...sorry.
Perfarmance- Ok, this
is not a part of the peripheral
reviews format but I feel it's a
necessary category...at least for
this peripheral, cause it ain't
gettin' away with a good review
without mentioning it's weak
points!! First of all, it's
response is very less than
accurate. Sometimes you will be
reeling in your lure and it will
just stop altogether. Another
thing, the "rumble
feature" of this controller
is virtually unnoticeable. The
most subtle rumbling I have ever
felt. It kinda feels like holding
your hand against your PC's hard
drive (yes, that subtle). Don't
think I'm basing these opinions
out of being bias, which I'm not,
InterAct is a very good company,
and I HAVE tried the Sega brand
fishing controller (in fact,
Sonic Adventure and Get Bass were
the first two Dreamcast games I
ever played...before launch at my
EB). Let's just say the Sega
brand is miles ahead of this
one...and it's around the same
price so I just have one question
for Interact...why bother?
Ingenuity- Hey, it's
a fishing controller. They are
fairly new, the DC originated
them. Currently only compatible
with Get Bass (known as Sega Bass
Fishing in the states). Not much
more to say on the subject.
