Graphics- Blue Stinger has
some of the best graphics the
Dreamcast has to offer so far.
Just looking up close at Eliot's
face will probably make you gasp
the first time... or at least
make some sort of impressed type
sound or eyebrow gesture. While
the backdrops tend to be a little
shallow in the graphics
department than the characters it
really doesn't take away from the
fun of the game and they are
still quite good.
Gameplay- Well, the game is
pretty hard at times... basically
you just go around shooting
deformed humans and solving alot,
and I mean ALOT of puzzles. It
get's quite boring if you don't
have a taste for this type of
gameplay but those who do will
enjoy this game. There are many
types of weapons available... it
gives you a sence of choice...
should I use the shotgun for my
long range weapon or the acid
gun? Should I use the stun rod
for my short range weapon or the
ray blade? You get the idea.
There are so many weapons in this
game from the aforementioned
shotgun, handgun, acid gun, rail
gun, rocket launcher,
missilelauncher, iron fists, bat,
axe, and many other's... well
over thirty. There are many types
of monsters but they all tend to
look a little alike due to the
fact that the farther you get the
more mutated the monsters will
be...from a simple human with two
small extra arms to a massive dog
like beast with nothing moreleft
of the human than a useless pair
of legs. That really doesn't
matter however, despite what
other's may think I don't believe
Blue Stinger is all about killing
things, it's the puzzles that
will challenge you. I'll admit I
had to ask a hint from Seganut
(freind) more than once. All in
all the game is a blast to play
and challenging as well.
A.I.- Like I said
before, the point of this game
isn't to kill so the monsters
aren't going to be geniuses. They
are dead after all... or...
reanimated into something worse
or something, I'm not even sure.
Though they aren't bright they
sure are hard sometimes, namely
the various flying creatures that
won't give you time to heal
yourself... you have to fight or
die... or run. Most of the time
youwill be avoiding these enemies
to conserve time, ammo, and
health so just make sure you are
going faster than them.
Ingenuity- This game is
obviously an attempt to make a
Resident Evil for Dreamcast (yes,
I know about Code Veronica so
don't correct me). It just
doesn't quite make the trip
though. In my opinion this game
is really a cross between
Resident Evil, Duke Nukem, and
Mission Impossible. You'll see
what I mean when I said Duke
Nukem once you get to the Omega
Club or see one of the many
naughty magazines lying around
town. The third person
perspective supports the Mission
Impossible theory. The plot, I
must say is fantastic. It seems
kind of lame at first but once
you beat the game you see
everything clearly, it's
something I would have never
thought of... makes me wonder if
it will happen in real life. So
it's not very original in terms
of gameplay but the plot greatly
makes up for this.
Fun- The game is very
fun, a straight forward
action/adventure game. I don't
really know what else to say that
I haven't already covered.
