| Dead or
Alive 2 can lay claim to best
looking fighter of 99. There are
no graphical problems such as
glitchy polygons or seams. The
arenas themselves are detailed
beyond belief. One stage for
example, the opera house, is a
two story fighting stage. You can
throw someone through the balcony
rails and onto the second floor.
The second floor contains seats
and the textures on the walls are
just awesome. The real time
intermissions that take place in
between various fights in the
story mode of the game look like
a dream. In the story mode, you
fight one round against different
characters. I completed the game
with the character Jan Lee. One
of his real time cut scenes
consist of Lei Fang doing various
martial arts moves. This scene
can pass for a CG intermission.
The cut scene before the last
boss is incredible for a real
time scene also. I don't know the
name of the last boss because his
name consist of two japanese
symbols. The characters
themselves are just scary in the
detail area. Tina and Bass
Armstrong, the father and
daughter wrestling duo, look
amazing when doing their team
attacks and various individual
moves. Lei Fang's leather costume
looks like leather, character
clothing moves when over air
ducts, the bounce is in full
effect. The atention to detail on
the clothing is remarkable. Let's
take Lei's chinese dress for
example. There is a beautiful
texture of a dragon on it and the
dress flows beautifully without
any breakup. The graphics in Dead
or Alive 2 are the best
representation of the Naomi's
power.
The game
plays like a cross of Fighting
Vipers and Virtua Fighter. Combos
come out easily and the speed of
the game is set at a fast pace.
The single matches seem to move
at a slower pace than the tag
matches, but the tag matchestake
place in a closed enviroment. The
special effects are nice as well.
The water took me by surprise.
I've never seen water look so
good in a 3D fighter. This game
plays host to some of the most
amazing arenas. I wish I could go
into further detail, but I have
not seen them all yet. Thanks to

Armstrong..er..Dead or Alive 2 on
Dream Machine. Dead or Alive 2 is
uber bra tacular. A demo for the
DC version of Dead or Alive 2
